Thorizon opens new Amsterdam Office

Last week we welcomed 150 partners, policymakers and industry leaders to the opening of Thorizon’s new office at the Energy Transition Campus Amsterdam.

🇪🇺 Together we explored one key question: how do we bring advanced nuclear technologies to market in Europe?

The afternoon opened with a lively fireside chat with Constantijn Van Oranje-Nassau (Techleap) and Rinke Zonneveld (Invest-NL), two long standing champions of entrepreneurship and deeptech innovation in the Netherlands. In their own words, two “angry boomers” pushing for change and accelerating the next generation of breakthrough technologies.

🎤 We were also honored to welcome the presentation of Jo-Annes de Bat (Ministerie van Economische Zaken en Klimaat), new Minister for Energy Infrastructure and Nuclear Affairs, who highlighted the commitment in the Netherlands for nuclear and innovation in the ecosystem.

This was followed by an engaging panel on the future of SMRs and nuclear innovation in Europe, moderated by Floriske Deutman, (Stichting Energietransitie & Kernenergie (SEK) with insights from:
🔸
Cécile Evans (Orano)
🔸Bram Paul Jobse (EPZ)
🔸Jan Panek (European Commission DG ENER)
🔸Nora Van der Wenden (Ministerie van Economische Zaken en Klimaat)

The program concluded with a video message from Ulla Engelmann (European Commission JRC) inviting collaboration on molten salt reactor research at the upcoming 𝗘𝗨𝗥𝗢𝗠𝗢𝗦𝗧 conference, followed by an update on THORIZON and 🔬 tours of our molten salt lab.

🙏 Thank you to all speakers, partners and guests who joined us. The energy in the room made the afternoon truly special, and we are grateful to be part of such a strong ecosystem.
